Please note that elementary school hours have changed for the upcoming school year.  The main office of BES will be open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM every day and school hours will be as follows:

Mornings:

• Buses will begin arriving at BES at 7:25.

• Car riders may be dropped off between 7:25 – 7:50.

• Breakfast will be served from 7:25 – 7:50.

• Morning Announcements will be delivered at 7:55.

• The Instructional Day will begin promptly at 7:55.  Students arriving after 7:55 will be considered tardy and will need to be signed in by a parent in the main office.

Afternoons:

• The first group of buses will be dismissed at 2:35.

• Car riders will be dismissed at 2:40.

• The second group of buses will be dismissed at 2:45.

RECYCLING NEWS
      Bedford Elementary School is pleased to announce that we are still recycling ink and toner cartridges.  The proceeds from this recycling effort help us to purchase ink and toner cartridges for classroom printers.  If you have a business that is willing to give us their empty cartridges, that would be a great boost to our recycling efforts.  We will earn money and in the process help the environment!

 
     The Bank of Fincastle will once again provide an opportunity for students to open their own savings accounts at school. An employee of the bank will be in the lobby of the school at 8:00 AM on the following dates to open student accounts and to accept deposits.

ATTENDANCE 

     Schools are responsible for teaching your child. But schools can’t do their job if your child is tardy or absent. Learning builds day by day. A child that misses a day of school misses a day of learning.
     Our school day begins at 7:55 AM and it is very important that your child have the opportunity to arrive on time and be prepared when the day begins. It truly sets the tone for their entire day.
    In the event that your child must miss school or arrive late, please call the school office at 586-0275.  Please send written documentation when your child returns to school.  If your child must be picked up early, please send a written note with your child to inform the teacher of the early dismissal and identify who will be picking up your child. Thank You!

BEDFORD ELEMENTARY CHECK POLICY

     We will gladly accept your personal checks as payment for cafeteria items, book clubs, PTA, and other services. All checks must contain your driver’s license number and a valid telephone number (including area code) and address.
