International Space Olympics
The Virginia Department of Education has
announced an opportunity for as many as ten (10) Virginia public school
students who will be juniors or
seniors during the 2011-2012 school year to participate in the
International Space Olympics in the Moscow Region of Russia. The
competition will be held during October 2011, and students who are
selected will receive a travel scholarship for $2,800 that will cover
all major costs of participation in the Space Olympics. For additional

Local Advisory Committee
Bedford County Public Schools operates a
Local Advisory Committee for Gifted Education. A parent
representative from each school in the county attends meetings of
the Local Advisory Committee (four times each school year).
