Scholarship requirements
ASAP The Ohio State University Alumni Club of SW VA Scholarship “Substantial monetary scholarship” to a senior from southwest Virginia who chooses to attend Ohio State University.  This is open to all students, regardless of financial need. If you are interested, please pick up information in the counseling office.
If you are awarded a scholarship, please don’t forget to write a thank you note!!!!!!!!!!  If you need the address, see Mrs. Mills.
Until awarded JMU’s Sarah Lanier Tabb Oliver Memorial Scholarship $32,000 awarded over 4 years to a senior girl who will attend James Madison University next year, has demonstrated academic success, demonstrated extreme financial need, and who submitted the FAFSA form by 3/1/10.  For more info, go to http://www.jmu.edu/finaid/scholarships and click on prospective students or pick up an application in the office.

Aug 1 Rosana Anderson Scholarship $500 award to a senior who has been accepted into college and will major in criminal justice.  An essay is required.
None Stated BarPalma Beauty Careers Academy Scholarship Full Scholarship to selected students who will major in the cosmetology program which leads to state licensure. For more information, plan to attend their “Beauty at a Glance” Career Day on May 7th from 11am – 2 pm.

2010-2011 Scholarship Application Procedure

 

~Read the scholarship notices found:
  • above
  • in your English class
  • in your government class
  • on the website at www.bedford.k12.va.us
  • in the library
  • in department chairpersons' classrooms
 
         
~In the counseling office, review the scholarship announcements and all requirements to apply and sign the scholarship book to receive a copy of the actual scholarships for which your quality.
 
~Mrs. Toney will send you a copy of the scholarship application to your homeroom class.
 
~After receiving the application, carefully complete it and send it in.  If it must be back to your counselor, bring it completed to the counseling office at least 5 days before the mailing deadline or 10 days before the receipt deadline.
