Bedford County Public Schools provides information related to Virginia's Standards Of Learning Testing Program as a service to our students, their parents, and persons interested in this testing program mandated by the State Department of Education and the Virginia State Legislature.

		"School counselors work with students, school staff, families, and members of the community as an integral part of the educational program. School counseling programs promote school success through a focus on academic achievement, prevention and intervention activities, advocacy, and social/emotional and career development. The purpose of the school counseling program is to impart specific skills and learning opportunities in a proactive and preventive manner which ensures that all students can achieve school success through academic, career and personal/social developmental experiences.
