Welcome
I am delighted to welcome you to the
2010-2011 school year at Forest Middle
School. My name is Jennifer Vestal Moore,
and I have the honor of serving as your PTA
President for the current school year.
Have you ever wondered where your membership dues and fundraising money go? The PTA arranges and pays for the cultural arts assemblies enjoyed by the students throughout the year; we give money to support the after school clubs that are available to any child attending FMS; we support our wonderful FMS Staff throughout the year with various events; we offer scholarships to local high school graduates who attended FMS; we fund the 8th grade farewell activities, and much more!
None of what we do is possible without the direct support of our families. ANY help, whether it is the gift of time or financial support, is truly appreciated and makes a REAL difference. Please give what you can. Are you able to volunteer? If so, please do! FMS PTA has volunteer openings that fit every schedule. There are one-time events, as well as ongoing programs, and even tasks you can perform at home. Let us know what your schedule will accommodate and where your interests lie, and we will help you find the volunteer opening that fits you! And remember, PLEASE, join the PTA. A membership form can be found on the Membership tab at the top right of this page.
Our meetings are open to everyone. I want to stress that you do not have to be a PTA Board Member or PTA Chairperson in order to attend a meeting. We welcome new faces and new ideas! Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please consider joining us. We'd love to meet more people and get a wider range of input into what we are doing and how effective we are. Help us to make the PTA a better vehicle to support the students and the school.
