CTE Alumni Spotlight - Rasheem Privott
Rasheem Privott is a 2010 graduate of Jefferson Forest High School (JFHS). During his time as a student at Susie G. Gibson Science & Technology Center, he completed Building Management 1, 2, and an internship. He was an exceptional student that always excelled in all aspects of the programs. While in the internship portion, he interned at JFHS while going to school. He also became a substitute custodian for Bedford County Public Schools in the evenings beginning in January 2008. He and another former student had planned to start their own custodial maintenance company upon graduation. Unfortunately, the other student became ill with a serious medical condition that would prohibit that plan. Therefore, Rasheem decided to continue his position as a long-term substitute custodian for Bedford County Public Schools. In March 2013, he took a permanent custodial position at New London Academy. He is a beloved member of the staff there and it feels like that was where he was meant to be all along. He continues to give back to the Building Management program by hosting and mentoring current student interns. Rasheem always gives his all in everything he does and will go out of his way to help anyone. His favorite part about his job is making people smile.
